Atlanta Humane Society (Volunteer work related to career goals- 3 points)

 

On the October 11th, I spent my time at the Atlanta Humane Society, and it was a really special experience for me. When I was younger, I always dreamed of being a vet, and it brought back a flood of old memories to be around the animals again. Being able to spend the day helping with their care reminded me how much I’ve always liked animals and how good it feels to be able to help make a difference, no matter how little.

While I no longer want to be a vet, volunteering showed me that my affection for animals is still there. To be able to see the dedication of the staff and volunteers to making it all happen helped to remind me of all the effort that goes into giving these animals a safe and loving environment.  It was pleasant to be a part of it, however temporary.
